A step I'm weary to take.
The legend rings true,
Once bitten twice shy
An' Lord knows I've been chewed.
I want someone to handle me
Care for me
Show me I'm worth the wait.
Tend to me and share with me,
Support my daily prayer.
I'm tired of taking two steps forward
Amost ready to leap!
But left with the rug pulled from me
Disappointment rains
My heart grows cold
Lessons learned
But left in defeat.
That father takes my hand
Points me down the road again
And says, :Just wait for me."
